Hi Everyone, I am in the process of trying to fix up my dad's old 30-30 1894 sadle ring carbine. Like a lot of guns in that era it was not treated to well spent a lot of time rattling around under or behind the seat of our old pickup. I was able to find a new unfinished stock from the US which I hope to get in a few weeks and I am looking for someone good that can put some checkering on the stock and perhaps even put the final finish on it. My gunsmith will do the re-blue for me. I am in Bowmanville Ontario, (Toronto Area) as well I send a lot of time in the Renfrew area, Ottawa Valley. Does anyone out there know someone that would do a good job for me, hopefully in either ot the two areas but I am willing to ship it if it means I get the right job. Appreciate any help thats out there, Thanks for now.:canadaFlag:

Was it originally checkered?

Not many 94s were checkered from the factory. It would then be closer to original w/o checkering and better left without it.

Hi SuperCub, no the original was not checkered, I just want to dress it up a bit , I don't care much for the plain stocks on the 30-30's. I plan on gettin it back in the bush to hunt with it from time to time but I see what you are saying about closer to the original, thanks
