Does anyone know where to get a good quality replacement stock to fit a Savage 116 long action? I'm not a huge fan of the tupperware factory stock on my rifle and I'm thinking about changing. I've done some looking around but would like to see if there are any places in Canada to purchase aftermarket stocks.

http://%rifle-stocks.com/actions_available.htm

"Savage: 10, 10ML (Muzzloader), 11, 12, 13, 16, 110 Long & Short, 111, 112, 113, 116 (Right & Left Hand Versions) (99% Press Fit Inlet)"

I see they are out of the States...is there any issues with bringing stocks up to Canada from the States that anyone knows about? Will I need an export/import permit?

Also, it looks like those stocks are unfinished. Is it an easy job to finish them off?

I haven't bought a stock out of the states in 3 years, so don't know if the regs have changed... I know that US has tightened regs on gun parts, but this is just a piece of wood.
I've never finished a stock.

"...Will I need an export/import permit?..." Read the 'International Orders' page on rifle-stocks.com. They say no problem. Mind you, that applies to commercial hunting rifles. None of which are on the U.S. 'Restricted for export' list.
