I bought a Uberti 1872 colt conversion of an 1860 Army black power pistol. It uses S&W 45 Schofield Ammo. I have been looking for factory ammo but haven't had any luck finding any. I can get brass but am looking for factory loads at this time. Any thoughts on where I can find some? I might have to wait and make a trip to the US but would really like to find some in Canada. Thanks.

You, as a Canadian, cannot legally Export (Take or send out) ammunition or components from the US.

American Laws! Unless you don't actually ever want to go back...or fly over...bad idea.

You can order components, if you don't mind the expense of the permits process, but ammo isn't coming across legally, until it's on the approved list at NRCan, another expensive proposition.

Find a source for dies and molds (tools, able to be exported) and find a Canadian source for brass that can be cut down or that has traveled in through the retail stream, where the permit cost is amortized over the bulk of the shipment.

P&D in Edmonton, Rusty Wood Trading Co in Lower Mainland BC, are two possibles for you to check with.

Cheers

Black hills is pretty much the only manufacturer of 45 Schofield, there a a couple of dealers in the US that may potentially transfer to FFL CGN sponsor dealers like prophet river, or irunguns who could do the import into Canada. Honestly it would pricey and I would just reload. The brass, dies are not common but are available through sponsor dealers and I even saw them at a local gun show recently. I reload this round for an antique Schofield revolver, its very doable.

No need to import :)
