I am having problems setting up scopes for my M14s rifles. As it seems next to impossible to find a mount that lines up close with the bore I need to find a good scope that has more the 3min of adjustment with out it being at or close to maxed out.Heres the problem.Installed mount.mounted scope and useing laser bore tool at about 30 feet found that cross hairs need to go up 2in. and right about 4 in.with a viper pst I can get the height but seem to run out of windage at about 2.5 in.Had same problem with a falcon and a bushnell. anyone have anysuggestions on a scope with a lot more windage adjustments? One that is in the price range of a sightron or a vortex viper.

If I understand correctly, it sounds like the scope is not parallel with the bore. Double check for correct mount and rings.

The scope does not need to be close to the bore. 30' is quite close, the scopes crosshair should be above the laser and the line-of-sight should merge with the laser at 100yds.

List the mount and rings you are using, post a pic or two if you can.

I guess I was a little vague in my discription. I am trying to bore sight the scope with a laser to get me on the paper this works out fine in most cases might have to move crosshairs 2 or 3 clicks up or down and the same left or right.what I am finding with the M14s is none of the mounts are close enough to being in line with bore and I am running out of adjustments on the scope to get me close to point of aim.which is a problem with these rifles they don't lend themselves to scope mounting due to variations of the reciever.Ideally I would need a adjustable mount to get set up perfectly. no camera so no pics

I use Burris Sig Zee rings, with the inserts you can pretty much zero a scope without touching windage or elevation. That way you have all sorts of come up and windage either way!!

Not wanting to state the obvious but did you zero (ie find the middle ) of the elevation and windage before you mounted the scope ,is it still zeroed ? I speak from experience as I had this happen to me . I reset the scope to the mid points and while I was out of the room my son decided he wanted to be just like Daddy and play with the knobs on the scope . needless to say it was a frustrating morning at the range .
