Looking for single stack 9mm 1911, or else?

The NP-29 is a single stack by the looks of it. The pictures show the typical flat profile as well as the lack of the 2011 bulge. Also the magazine capacity is only 9 rounds which is the same as the STI Trojan 9mm.

I've shot a 9mm Trojan and it's a great gun. Yeah, it's more money but then you want to weigh that against getting the NP-29 and finding out that you want to do some mods or improvements to it to make it function and feel just right. From what I saw the Trojan comes nicely set up without the need for any interior attention of that sort. I guess it just depends on if you're willing to get or do the mods if needed and what the NP-29 is like right out of the box.

If it helps justify the extra cost the STI comes with an adjustable rear sight and a nicer fit and finish. But if budget is a real concern and you don't mind the possibility of a "project" to make the Nork work the same then go for it.

I went the custom 9mm route and it was a hassle and expensive. If the 'rinco NP-29 9mm works give it a try as I have nothing but good to say about my 'rinco 1911 45s. I have also heard good things about Springer, Kimber, and STI versions. I am a nay sayer when it comes to the 40 S&W. Why? I do not see anything that the 40 S&W can do that a 9mm or 45 acp can't do as well or better. Regards, Richard:)

9mm/38 super

A 9mm 1911 can be easily converted to 38 super if you want major power factor in the future. Change the barrel and a slight adjustment to the extractor (i have one set for each cal.)and your set.
The 9mm single stack Norenco that I have took quite a bit of work by Armco to make it a IPSC competitive gun. Once set up it has been reliable and cheap to run.
Another issue is 9mm mags are 9 rounds. Summer 2008 Brownells new products listed a 10 rd that I have tried and works very well. 38 super mags with 9mm loaded long don't seem to work in my Norenco or wife Dlask.

Go with the single stack 9 for ease of shooting, reliable and cheap. Don't forget most production guys use 9 and leave it lying.

Now your going to make me WANT one yah boob ;) Always wanted to try the 357 Sig :D Which pistol can you convert from a .40 to the .357 Sig tho?

I usually get called worse - lots of 40 cal pistols are convertible, check out Storm Lake barrels, they list conversion barrels that they sell.
