if i can manage to find components, I'd like to see if I can load slugs cheaper than buying the crappy reduced recoil stuff. The problem is, I can't seem to find any in southern ontario. Anyone have any tips on a source? (No shipping pls, slugs weigh a ton)

Slugs only weigh an ounce or so (give or take a bit). LOL. Seriously, you can load your own for less, but you may have to cast your own. I don't know of a source for slugs in Ontario.

The so-called “crappy reduced recoil stuff” is great. S&B makes the best, accurate, reduced recoil slugs on the market. The Score stuff ain’t bad either.
At a buck a slug, taxes & delivery in, you cannot do better IMHO, or I would be reloading them myself. Perhaps you should step up to the 3” & 3.5” slugs to get the results you are seeking.
