ok so ive always wanted to do this but never had the time or money to fund it, anyways what i want to do is take a CHEAP pump 12 gauge with a corn cob style forend(call me old school) and cut the barrel to 18.5" now the problem lies in what model i should chose as im looking to have a pistol grip on hand just in case ;)
something with a short LOP as its going to be my tactical shooty

thanks Jason

im cheap and looking for a beater pump type of thing here

A new Maverick 88 or a used Mossberg 500 in 18.5" won't cost you a lot. No need to chop any barrels unless you want an ancient piece of junk for $100 with a 30" barrel you want to chop. Mossberg's are uber-reliable and furniture/parts are plentiful if anything ever breaks down.

Check the EE. Lots of Lakefield Mossberg 400 and 500's that go dirt cheap.

Maybe you should stop acting like you are old when you are only 16, and you don't even have your g1 yet, and people that are "old school" would likely not hack up an old gun to make it tactical.

I think he is referring to the wood stock and forend, which a lot of people including myself prefer the look of (I have 3), and any number of us have hacked up an old shotgun, (I've done it any number of times) I just like the old style riot gun look (I never really understood what tactical meant). Store bought 18" barrel are expensive as hell and hard to find to boot.
