Im hoping that some one on here might be able to answer a quick question I have a Remington 870 Express with the 7 round magazine on it and I just recently ordered a 12.5" barrel for it.

http://www.remington.com/products/f...-870/model-870-express-synthetic-7-round.aspx

What Im wondering about is, do I just need to buy a new spring from Remington and a magazine cap to replace the 3 round mag extension? or is there some thing else that Im missing?

Also im wondering if any one has found a magazine cap that would look flush with the 12.5" barrel, and possibly give the look of a door breacher shot gun?

Thanks so much for your help!

Buzz

Edit: This is what my shotty looks like so far.

Yep you need a magazine cap, to replace the extension.
Just a standard 870 mag cap will work. If your near a large sporting goods store, Uncle Mikes sells one with their sling swivel kit for about 30$. But you can probably find one for way cheaper in the EExchange.
You can order a new spring from S&J hardware or SFRC ammosource.

Great guys thanks so very much for the help! And noo Gootch not.. Yet? But I was wondering can any one tell me with the 12.5" barrel with the end of the muzzle be the same length as just the stock magazine cap? Or would putting on a 1 round vang comp extension make it flush with the barrel??

Thanks for the offer beeson I will be in touch with you shortly, actually based on some one answering that question hopfully, thanks for the offer :)

Thanks guys, I wish i could tell you more about the forend, as when i bought it it was in a plastic bag with only a sticker saying 870 forend. After doing a little research it looks very close to the MCS forend, but it has 2 removable pieces on the side where you could run light or laser triggers in to the grip. i paid about $75 for it from

http://www.targetsportscanada.com/

And it mounted up really nicely, i just am looking forward to see what it looks like on the shorter barrel iv ordered. They had at least 3 or 4 more there when i was last there a month ago.

Good looking scattergun you got there BB'er. :D

Care to join me at the range tomorrow for one last long-barrel shoot, afor ya blow yer ears out with that new abbreviated tube? f:P:2::nest:

Hey Viking, I'll touch base with you tonight, id really like to hit the range but I have to driving to Toronto tomorrow as well. What do you think the likely hood is that the range will let us build a mock door and door frame and blast the hinges off it with 00 ? :D

What? Y'all been standing in the sun too long? Don't you go playing peek-a-boo at my range! :HR: I know wha' appened last time a bunch of shotties showed up. :shotgun: The OK Corral was kiddy stuff compared to that. I hear the ducks still haven't come back.:runaway:

Might fly, if we call it a "peek-a-boo patterning stand". R:d:

So sorry for the thread bushwhack, OP.
Headed back to rifle territory, where I belong. :D

Looks like the Remington MCS forend and I'd be curious where you picked it up from too - they're hard to find!

It does look like an MCS forend, but I haven't seen another since I picked mine up in the EE almost 4 years ago, until now that is. Mine doesn't have any removeable pieces though. I fricken' love it.
