looking for some info on a odd enfield

the rifle in question:
the info i have
marked VR enfield 1900 SHT .22 III EFO

the year on the rifle is 1915, i understand that in 1915 there were only 1000 of these made and a total of 7000

its a 25.2 inch barrel 8 grove

its a 5 rd mag converted by parker hiscock Enfield BSA co.


what im looking for is any further info on this and a value (its for a friend who doesnt do the whole computer thing)

i will get pictures the next time im over but hes asked me to research this for him

Sounds like a Brit navy trainer so far.
PS if I recall the mag is worth a few bucks too.

I understand that they were only in production for 4 years. later found to be unreliable when poorly maintained. i really cant find anywhere where it states the value of these things anywhere. if anyone could give me a ball park on this. its full wood all original in good condition . i might be able to get over there this weekend to snap a few shots but id like to get him a value before i go back over there.
ive found a 4 page detail in a book on this rifle to confirm it is what i thought it was. just no idea on value

yes the mag is extremely intricate, i would assume being removable and a training rifle they would often be lost or damaged. ive really never seen anything like it.

if anyone could give me their best guess on value itd be apreciated . he wants to be 100% sure of the value before selling so all those whole messaged me i havent forgot about you its just a bit of a drawn out deal.

Unless I'm mistaken: that's far from being a common Lee Enfield. The mag on its own is a beautiful piece of art.

The difficulty in giving a value to a rifle like this is, so few are changing hands that it's hard to use other transactions as "comparable". My advice would be to contact a place like Collectors' source or other folks specialized in this type of rare items, unless someone has seen one at an auction recently and knows how much it went for? Personally, my advice to the potential seller would be: be patient and make sure you get a few estimates from different reliable sources.
