Looking for some input on a survival gun

Hi I have Savage 24 in .22/410 and a 24 in .22Hornet/20ga.I take the .22/410 up north for grouse(410) and rabbits(22)Both of these guns are well worth my investment and hopefully they will get passed down to family to be used and appreciated in the future.

A good 30-30 lever action, short range you can behead grouse or rabbits, can take game up to moose if the range is right, and if you get attacked by a bear or other nasty critter they hold enough 150-170gr rds to fend them off

Hey there ,

I recently pick up a new gun, its a Savage model 24 ,over under 22 on the top and 410 on the bottom, my question is, this is a survival gun what can this combination be used for, as far as hunting is concerned , the 22 is great for small game but what can I shoot with the 410

A Savage 24 in .22/.410 lets you shoot grouse and rabbits up close with the .410 without ruining the meat, and the .22 gives you up to
about 100 yards' range with Velocitors, on the same small game. Don't listen to any turkeys that try to tell you you can go after bears and
deer, both the .22 and the .410 are short range, small game getters. If you have a .243 you're in business for deer or black bear, or if
you want to use a shotgun, then a 20/16/12 gauge with buckshot or skugs will put deer on the table. Have fun!
