hey all I'm in need of some help i have a nice shotgun but am in need of a rifle not looking to go over the top just something for coyote in either .223 or .243 looking for something around the $300 price range without a scope for now i have a scope i can use. just need to get some different opinions on what people think!

Well we may as well make this a one response thread The Famous Stevens 200 would be logical choice the 243 if you are only going to hunt coyotes and maybe deer ,if you want to hunt gophers or ground hogs then the 223 and of course there will be all the natter about the price of the ammo but the fact is if you use the .223 for coyotes you are going to want good quality ammo not milsurp. so the price will be the same and maybe even more . The 243 is the ultimate coyote cartridge.

Have a look at a Marlin XS7. I believe they are giving Savage a run for their money, not to mention the Marlin has an adjustable trigger.
