I am just starting out with hunting this year. It has been a real long time since I have been out to do any type of hunting, and even then, it wasn't really me doing it. I just tagged along. I just realized the date, and black bear season is upon us. I was wondering if the were any fellow gun nutz who wouldn't mind an extra in a hunting party. The few that I knew that hunt, have either given up going out, or can no longer go out due to health reasons. I am looking for a few new friends who go out for more than one type of species during the year, because I would love to go for bear, deer, and ducks/geese eventually. I have a rifle chambered in 30.06, and the only thing I am missing is a shotgun, but that will come later this year.
Hopefully, reaching out here, will bring me some luck, as it has in the past, and I have met some great people who helped my daughter out with stuff for a school project on this awesome site!

I'm heading out with the wife this year. Likely in the Interlake north. Perhaps towards Dauphin. Once I'm set up with friends who are also going these ways I'll know more. You might try joining a good range/fish and game club (Selkirk perhaps), there's others, get involved in a trapping association. might meet some more locals that way.

Yea, I plan on joining Selkirk Game and Fish in the next couple months once I get a few things squared away. I will read into a trappers association and find out a bit more. Thanks :)
