Looking for some reloading advice!

Hello all,

Over the past two years I've been slowly putting together a longrange/target rifle and reloading equipment. I've loaded and fired 100 rounds, testing different powder charges and testing accuracy at 100 yards. I've had some really good groups as small as .5 and some real bad ones as well.
Wondering if anyone has any tips regarding the reloading side of my rig.
Heres what im using:
Rifle remington 700 V in 243 with 26" barrel
IMR 4350
Hornady 105grain Amax or Sierra 95grain matchking (on order)

Main question is if the 4350 is adequate for the weight of bullet and barrel lenght or if there is another powder i should be trying?

I would think you'll find the 95gr sierra more accurate. Not sure about your rifle but Remington used a 9 1/8 twist in there 6 mm rem probably the same in 243. 105 might not stabilize as well the 95 gr. Varget would be my choice for those weights
 
Use 87 to 90gr match bullets from Berger and Sierra and Hrn... groups will settle down and be more consistent.

Your twist is no where fast enough to stabilize over 95gr and some 95gr are marginal even in your current twist.

I am shooting a Rem 783 in 243 so have basically the same barrel twist..... Done all the same testing and seen all the same problems.

I'm getting good results with the 105gr Amax & IMR4350. I have a 22" tube, with a 1 in 9.25" twist.

Take into consideration though, unless you work up a really consistent/accurate load & buy a few boxes, is that the 105 Amax is being discontinued.

It's being replaced by the 103gr ELD-X and 108gr ELD-M.

I have the 700 sps varmit(243) and haven't had to much luck with the 105 gr berger vld hunting,they seemed not to bad when I started but after about the 2nd box they went to hell on me(Not sure why maybe a different lot)I went to the 87 gr. berger vld hunting and imr 4350 and they work pretty decent out to 600 yards.Had good luck with the 65 gr v-max and varget also.
 
Thanks for the info! I had suspected the twist would be a bit slow for the 105's, but figured may as well give it a shot. Actually forgot to mention i have a box of hornady vmax 87's to try as well. Goal is to find heaviest bullet with a high bc for long range. Happy to hear others are using IMR 4350 as well, my research may have been accurate then (pun intended)
 
I have a 700 sps varmint with the 9 1/8 twist. I have a decent load with hybrid 100v behind the 105 amax. I am working on an 87 grain vmax load at the moment. Currently i am having amazing luck with 55 grain nosler varmageddon. I also have the 95 smk that needs some work
 
Like Laker, I'm also having the best success with a light-weight bullet. The Hornady 58gr Vmax.

It's borderline HOT, measuring 2.625" @ 43.9 grains of IMR4064 & ~3950 fps (20deg C).

Isn't hybrid 100 a really slow powder? (away from burn chart) I've never used it, nut my buddy does for .300 win mag with good results.
Anyone try superformance in .243?
