I'm looking for recommendations for someone that can dovetail the front sight dovetail on my Norinco NP29 slide so I can change the front sight as I believe the current dovetail is proprietary. Does anyone know if the rear sights use a common dovetail? I really like the gun but hate the sights.

I called before and they said they didn't do slide milling. Maybe I'll try again. I'm starting to wonder if it would be easier to modify a sight instead of modifying the slide.
The front sight would only be about $50 and most of the ones that I see are withing about 1/8" or less
Mail the slide to Roger Kotanko at Dark International, Simcoe. 519 428-3127 mail the sights, too, because there is more than one size of dovetail for the front sight.
The rear sight is a standard Colt 1911.

Jason Spencer at Gunco in Ottawa. Don't know what he charges, but I've seen an NP29, with a replaced front sight he did.
Yes. The rear dovetail is standard colt 70/1911.
If all you want is an adjustable sight, then LPA's low profile rear sights work with the existing front sight.
