I just bought a nice rifle in 17-222, and after much thought I think I should should just rechamber it to 17 Rem, factory ammo, factory brass and slightly better performance, better resale value etc.

If anyone has the reamer and can do the work please PM me.

What rifle did you buy in that calibre? I've been considering purchasing a 17-222. I've always been partial to the Triple Deuce over the 223. Actually more interested in a 17-222 Mag but I'd have to re-chamber like you want to. I would just buy a reamer from Pacific Tool and Gauge. Very long wait though. Good luck with finding a reamer. Ellwood Epps might have one. Not sure if George is still their gunsmith.

The rifle is a stainless Rem 700 with a Lilja barrel in a HS Precision stock "tactical" stock, short wide forend.

Looks like it could take 6-8 months for the seating die, there was a modified 17 Rem FL die in the kit that has been modified but i'm not sure why it was modified but it almost looks like it could work, the guy that built it passed away so I can't ask him.

It's a sweet little round but 6-8 months will kill me waiting to shoot it.

I have the reamer but am not doing any work outside of my own ands a couple of close friends. Could arrange to rent to you if someone would do the work for you.
