Hi folks first off I'm looking for a source of 38 S&W for my self and another friend. I have a victory and he's got webley.

Secondly I have al old friend that has a single shot lever action made by Stevens, look old and patent date is 1894. It's in 32 rimfire, how hard is this to acquire and where would I be able to find some more.

Cheers

Reloading is the only way for reliable supply of this cartridge. Local shop in Barrie area wants 44.95+ tax for box of 50 winchester 145gr LRN. This is 44 magnum price if you ask me. Tradeex has brass and bullets can be used for 38 special. Its possible to cut down 38 special cases to the length however its time and effort consuming. I loaded few this way and was able to get good results with my Victory, Webley is another story.

The 38S&W is a different diameter that the 38 Special..... Cutting down 38 Specials might not give you satisfactory results.

Find brass and reload. It take's 2 grain's of powder for the 38S&W. there's 7000gr to a lb. That's 3500 round's of amm per lb of powder.
A friend asked me to help him one weekend to reload 38 S&W.We had fun and he had 3500 rds on Sunday afternoon. Most of a 50 cal can was full.

No such thing as a ".44 magnum price". The cartridge has nothing to do with the cost of the ammo.
I'd forget the rimfire if you think .38 S&W is hard to find. It uses a .360" bullet, but that really only matters if target accuracy is needed. And it won't be out of either revolver. Anyway, ammo and/or brass shouldn't be terribly hard to find. Your local gun shop can order it for you. Remington and Winchester load it.
