i have some speedloaders for my Ruger GP100 but they're the HKS ones where you have to turn the knob to release the rounds. they're ok for just plain range days, but i'd MUCH rather have the type where you push the loader (or the button on it) to release all the rounds.

who makes those types? hks? safari? someplace else? and where would i buy them?

What you are looking for is jet loaders of Safariland speed loaders..
All are made for the J&K Smiths...

The comp-2

The S&W k frame ones work for my Ruger Security Six. I'm not sure if the cylinders are the same size as your GP though.

The comp II's and III's work the same way, just push to pop the rounds in. The comp II's have the small nub, and the III's have the large handle like nub.

The ones I have for my 29-2 are made by Dade, they are the push button type and are very fast----just don't drop it, ammo goes all over!

I got mine from e-bay can;t remember the name of the place right now, but search for Dade Speedloaders.

try this ebay item number 300452650156

gonna try to Safari Comp2 since they're cheap enough and i can get them locally in 2 weeks. thx!

The Comp II's release the rounds and they fall in by gravity. The Comp III's drive them home by spring pressure. Comp III's are very popular when reloads need to be fast.

i thought about the Comp3 but they look too tall to fit my pouches, and i THINK that the pouches need to be covered with the top flap for IDPA. at $13 each, i'm a try the Comp2 first. and i'm not doing IPSC with the Ruger so i don't think i need to go THAT fast in IDPA.

we'll see what happens after i get them and try them out for a while.

I don't shoot IDPA so I'm not familiar with the finer points of the rules. I know an armoured car driver who uses the comp3's with his duty rig, so if you decide that you need the speed, the pouches are at least available.
