Thanks for all the input, The 229 was a little small for my hands so I went with a 226 stainless.

I shot a fellow rangemate's Para Ordinance 1911 in .40 S&W. What a beautiful firearm to shoot. Solid steel, nice lines, beavertail safety... just a great firearm.

Maybe that's something to look into if you're looking for a competition firearm.

I would have suggested a Beretta 96 too. I just saw a 96FS Inox I want.
