I'm finalizing a deal on my first big game hunting rifle, Tikka M695 30-06, used. It comes with 30mm rings. I'm probably going to be doing a lot of low light hunting. I'm looking for suggestions on value priced scope (max $350). Thanks

i am not sure of what to recommend for 350 but what i will say is do not get a scorpion scope

there will be a few others posting up with their ideas soon enough.

check out EE for whats in your price bracket for a starter

I'd find a Leupold VarX or VX II of some sort.
They show up for them funds.
You may have to give up them 30mm rings for the 1" type.
With a bit of luck, a VarX III may show up.
There was a Zeiss Conquest in the EE not long ago for $350 if me memmery
serves me korrect.
That would be a decent deal if'in it t'was in gooder shape.

Edit to note: dang thang wuzz tagged as a clone...........bite me tongue.

It'll be tough to find a decent 30mm scope for that kind of dough. You'll have to at least double your funding.

Lots of options in 1". I love Burris Fullfields, the low light performance is awesome. Honestly you are going to get many opinions but I'd go with a 40 mm objective minimum and wouldn't bother with a target reticle as you will lose the crosshairs in low light.

If you consider going with a 1" rings, Bushnell Legend ultra HD should be within your budget. If they still have their buy back warranty if for any reason your unsatisfied is hard to beat.

You can buy relatively inexpensive reducer bushings that will allow you to use any 1-inch scope in your 30mm rings. It will open up a vast array of scope choices to you. I think the last time I checked Wolverine's site they showed them.
