Hello,

Looking to get back into some hunting
Preferably turkey.

Looking for a reliable, affordable and durable shotgun , with removable chokes

Like to hear what everyone has to suggest or recommend

Remington 870 Express, or any other brand of comparable shotgun. Basic, affordable, reliable and durable. 3" chamber, so versatile. Chokes readily available. All that's needed, for a basic turkey-hunting rig. I recommend installing sling swivels/studs on the gun. One less thing in your hands to carry, when lugging a heavy gobbler out of the woods.

Note: Remington discontinued the "Express", in 2021. Now calling it: "Fieldmaster".

I second the Wingmaster. Although I’d save some money and buy a used one in good condition. I have had a Wingmaster since 1979 and used it for everything for 25 years and I did literally nothing in the way of maintenance over those 25 years. It has never failed me. Waterfowl, Turkey, pheasant. Works just fine on all of it.

I would go with an 870 Wingmaster for a first general purpose shotgun ... a bit more expensive .... but worth every penny.

And for Turkey hunting .... you can buy an extra smooth bore barrel with rifle sights ....

But they're $450 used. I guess it's "more expensive" compared to the overseas junk you could get instead.

Another vote for the 870. In fact look up 3MACS1 in the EE and check out the one he has for sale! Those are perfect all round gun, I used that exact model for years without FAIL.
