Looking for SxS or O/U information and advice

Yeah, I'm thinking you're right by the sounds of things. I didn't factor in the parts availability.

What would you suggest if I increase my budget to say $1500?
I didn't say that they are bad choice, I just reminded you the limitations.
They probably outlast you if you take care of them but if they break you can easily get another one.
70-80s comblock guns build for export are very reliable . They are the best those companies can produce hand picked from the assembly line.
They had 3 grades, western export for hard currency , comblock export for exchange and "it's still woks" for domestic sales.

I've got a BL-4 Beretta (North America) which is the S56E (European) which Intersurplus has bunch of. It's a great gun but a bit light for 12ga. target loads in for me, but perfect to put 28ga. briley tubes in. It would be amazing upland gun to carry all day.

If you're interested in something from Turkey, check out the TriStar upland hunter in 20 or 12. Well made and finished guns for the price.

Rare but keep an eye for a used Ricol too. I think Corwin brought them in. I had the 20 ga OU with 15" barrels... beautiful little gun.

Be warned many on here hate Turkish shotguns so prepare to hear the usual don't buy comments.

Is this a decent enough shotgun? I'd use it for messing around in the woods and some grouse hunting a few times a year.
I personally never had one, but many people like them got the removable chokes and you can get more if you need it to have the full set ( turkey, full, imp.mod, mod, imp.cyl, cylinder ), it's a 3 inch chamber.
Check the internet or the forums for reviews or problems trends.

Good to know. Thanks for your thoughts on it.
I always check YouTube and Reddit before buying any new to me design.

I mainly was drawn to it being a Winchester and a maker I know. So many random makers for these shotguns hard to know them apart. I'll have a look around more online

Hello, my name is Mike... And I also spend too much time browsing Intersurplus website... Thank God I have a wife, to talk some common sense into me...

A 6 1/2lbs Heym Drilling in 16Ga-7x57R, might seem like an interesting option to chase birds with... Sure, one of the choke would need to be opened up a bit... And no, I don't have any 16g shotshells or 7x57r ammo to use... But it is so pretty šŸ˜
