Looking for the best Chronograph

Kombayotch, did you get the Magnetospeed as close to the bore as possible? The bullet needs to be close to the deck or it won't read properly (especially with small bullets like .223)

Mine matches the dope perfectly when measuring bigger .30 cal bullets close to the deck.

It was slightly less than the square spacer tube they provide, in both cases.

There is a sensitivity setting that you can play with. That really affects the data generated.. Combo of distance from bore and sensitivity.

When it is set, my output velocity stuffed into JBM is spooky accurate and consistent.

So maybe it was a setting and set up issue????

Maybe.

I would consider buying the sporter IF it worked with brakes like the FTE. But it doesn't... At $399 US for the V3, I might as well pay the extra $160 US and get something that doesn't affect groups. Silly of them to sell it with that bayonet when the control units can use either bayonet.

Ummm, why not?

The picture on the sporter box has a muzzle braked barrel over the bayonet ;-)

It works just fine with gill styled brakes. I would NOT use it with any brake that vented down however.

Let me know as I have a sporter unit instock at a great price.

FTE and a lot of other brakes are longer than 2.7". Off the top of my head; the Fat Bastard, JP Brakes, Coretac Solution brakes, Grizzly brakes.

I e-mailed Magnetospeed about the FTE and they confirmed it.

How much? Like a lot of things, I can't find it on your site. I'm very interested in getting a Magneto speed.
