Looking for the best NON-RUGER rimfire pistol

You have to define your intended type of shooting.

Without knowing your intentions, Nutz are left to assume. See where that takes us? We've got Olympic rapid fire pistols, NRA slow fire revolvers, and defensive-oriented trainers all mixed in a sick and silly medley.

P.S.: At least nobody said "the 22-A".

I have a CZ75 Kadet. It's solid and eats everything I put into it, and if it misfires I just squeeze it again and they usually go off. The narrow slide is the only drawback but that's trivial really.

S&W Model 41 is a nice gun that is very accurate, but pricey if you're buying new.

The Sig P226 Classic .22 is one I would like to try.

Not a good one I hear. Ok as a plinker though.

What and where did you hear this.
I'm pretty sure I have looked at all the threads about the neos and nothing terrible is stated.
It is relatively inexpensive compared to other name brands.
They look odd though, it may not fulfill the “look” as required by OP, but there is really nothing wrong with this pistol.

I just replaced my ruger 22/45 with a CZ kadet kit, and there is no comparison, the kadet is one hell of a good piece of gear. Check it out

In .22 LR, it's the best non-Ruger ;) (a Colt, no less :p).......:D.......:

I have one of these and really like it.

I had a chance to shoot the Kadet last week at the range.

It really is an awsome pistol!

A bit pricey at $1K IMO but it may actually be worth it....

I pay mine 700 $ + tax = 800 $ about two years ago

did the price increase so much ??

The one I shot last week was about 2 weeks old. The guy who owns it said He paid just over a grand including shipping.

So I guess prices are up a bit...... On the other hand he may have gotten hosed!

Ruel, will your Kadet accept a 9mm slide? or would a guy be better off buying a 75 in 9mm or .40 and then getting the Kadet kit?

yes, maybe it's better to get the CZ 75 9mm and after get the Kadet kit

because the 9mm slide doesn't fit on a Kadet frame, you're right

in my situation, I bought the Kadet (complete pistol) and I also bought the CZ 75 9mm, it was a personal choice (yes, it cost me more $$$)

but like you said, buy a CZ 75 (9mm or .40) and get the Kadet kit, this is a really good way to have two good pistols in one

this way is also less expensive ;)
