Looking for the best NON-RUGER rimfire pistol

Who says the Mosquito's are horribly inaccurate? I've never heard of anybody trying to use one as a bench rest target pistol, but I haven't heard anybody complain about the Mosquito's accuracy either. I'm happy with mine, but I'm no marksman with any handgun...

Hate the Rugers all you want, but I think they're the best bang for the buck. My 22/45 is crazy accurate and a blast to shoot.
I also love my Beretta 76S. Fits the hand like a glove, smooth action, dead ###y lines....:D :D . Scooped it from the EE forum loong time ago.

(E)

What? Ugly?

Im really like mine, shoots very well, reliable AND $309. :dancingbanana:

Sorry, that was a badly typed sentence. I meant I'd heard that Mosquitoes had issues with jamming. The jamming AND inaccuracy was only the P22.

And haha yes, I expected a lot of Ruger defenders, but you're not going to change my personal preference on looks. :D

I have a Walther GSP 22 lr. that I will sell for $900.00. Very accurate, rib on top for red dot sight. Have original case.

I held the Tangfolio Force, extremely light, the dealer told me they were very very nice guns to shoot. I have a Ruger Mark II bull barrel, I find them to be nicer than the tappered versions, and it just keeps on tickin.

The older Browning Challengers and Medalists are great guns. I don't like the workmanships on the newer Buckmarks as well. Recently saw a used Medlist in a gun shop for $675. Made me feel really good about the $250 I paid for mine.

Buy Bud45223's $900 GSP. Seriously, and every other .22 pistol you pick up after it will suffer in comparison, I'd buy it myself if there wasn't so damn much other stuff competeing for my paycheque over the next 6 months!

22/45 MKIII 4.5" Slab bbl...ugly? Not in my eyes.
The grips a little thin in my hands but then it's a lot lighter than my S&W 41.
Both HG's are great to shoot....

Another option is the S@W 422/622 series. I have one of each and find them to be entirely reliable and fun to shoot. They are very light and handy.

I have used the Hammerli trailside as well but for the money would stick with a 422 for plinking etc.

That being said, the new ruger 22/45 with the 4.5" barrel is tough to beat for the money.

I had a S&w 422 rimfire, it was a lot of fun, but I didn't find it to be the most accurate pistol. Ever thought of just going to 9mm or higher? It truly increases the fun factor, and may keep you interested in pistols alot longer. I found that rimfire just didn't have the excitement of shooting centerfire.

If accuracy is your bag, I understand that the Kimbers in .17M2 or .17HMR are supposed to be deadly accurate, and still a rimfire (not that .17 HMR is terribly cheap - but that'll probably change, and the rifle I have chambered in it is a blast).

This baby is a real beauty if you ask me also!

"I'd originally given up looking for a solid rimfire pistol (P22s are supposedly horribly inaccurate as well as jamming, same goes for the Sig Mosquito)"

not true! I tried the Walther P22, and sig mosquito, both are good, but prefer CCI ammo, rarely had jams with these guns using CCI.

Or, see if you can buy a 22lr conversion kit for one of your existing guns. SIG and GLOCK make them, 1911, etc...

granted, it will cost you the same, or a little more to buy a complete 22lr handgun. I have one for my Sig 220, it works great, just needs to be broken in a little.

I'd originally given up looking for a solid rimfire pistol (P22s are supposedly horribly inaccurate as well as jamming, same goes for the Sig Mosquito), however I thought I'd give it another shot before I just completely discount finding a dependable, accurate, and aesthetically pleasing rimfire pistol.

I've heard that Rugers are great, however I think they're butt-ugly, and the look is quite important to me as well. So does anyone know of any pretty, reliable, accurate rimfire pistols? I've looked at the Beretta 87, but I have not found much information as to its performance. Other suggestions welcome (also, the Kimber rimfire pistol is a teense on the expensive side at 1200 bucks or whatever it is).

PS Hi, I'm new. ;)

You won't regret getting a Beretta 87. The 87 is close to perfection.

The only downside is (spare) magazine cost and availability.
