Looking for this Kel-Tec part: RDB-307 firing pin, where can I purchase in Canada?

Firing pins are $10 US straight from Keltec..... I'd be looking at the grey market to import a bunch if Vault is not interested.

Vault, are you saying you have lot's of parts on hand and any brick and mortar shop can order parts from you? Or, is it more a case of having just enough parts to warranty service the guns you have imported and a projected failure rate based on those numbers?

How much is a firing pin in Canada if it''s not free under warranty? I assume the reason Kel tec sells them is that they see value in people having cheap spare parts on hand so they can repair in the field or without extra delays or other supply issues.

Can you bring in the plastic lower that converts a pistol grip RDB to a Hunter C if a bricks and mortar shop asks for it? I'm not sure if Kel-tec sells the different lowers as an option, but it would be interesting to find out.

I can see a Cdn market going forward for a basic maintenance kit, (springs, extractors, firing pins) to keep things running through unforeseen down times.

edit to add, All the parts listed on Keltec's website for the RDB total, $42US in shipping, pins, screws, mag catch etc.
Add the canada price conversion and import fees, then add some more and there is likely money to be made in servicing customers
even the grey ones.

A pre-order might save having to invest $1000 or more up front to get the ball rolling..... but I don't really understand why Canadian importers don't stock up on parts or make them available preemptively. Kel-tec should send up a big parts kit to their official partners with the goal of providing the same quick service they provide in the US.

Have you seen the 2nd version of firing pin failing? I have a 2nd gen as my serial is z5###x. Just wondering if I should order a spare pin.

They weren’t selling anything direct, just offering advice. Shame.

I've never looked into the business side, but I guess you have to pay to play at some point.... I agree with you though in the sense that it was nice to see active posts from a major importer.

After sale service and support can be a bit lacking in Canada..... hopefully Vault will make the necessary donation to continue the efforts to inform and engage with their customer base here on CGN.

Here is my story.

If I mention the retailer's name or the distributor's name that are sponsor on this forum, this post or the entire thread would likely to be removed by the moderator. So I will refer to them as Retailer X and Distributor Y/V.

I bought my RDB from Cabela's not long ago. It developed an intermittent failure and I contacted Cabela's. Cabela's informed me that all sales are final and warranty is covered by Distributor Y (sponsor in this forum). There is nothing else they can do. I contacted Distributor Y twice. They are not willing to help.

I came onto the forum looking for direction. I stumbled upon a thread in Retailer X section who deals with Distributor Y and he was talking about their product is backed by Distributor Y. As first, Retailer X seems to be helpful and said he will look into getting spare parts even though I didn't purchase from him. This seemed promising at first. Then, a week later, the entire thread was removed. Something is very fishy!! Someone mentioned contacting KelTec directly. I emailed twice and absolutely no response.

As suggested by a fellow member here, I reached out to Distributor V (not a sponsor on this forum). Distributor V was very helpful, told me to check back with him in a few weeks and he can point me to the retailer that carries it. Meanwhile, I found another member here who has spare parts and I paid him. I didn't want to wait. I forgot about Distributor V. Today I received an email from Distributor V and he informed me which retailer has it. I told him I no longer need the part because I bought it from a member here. Distributor V could have ended his conversation there and I would totally understand because his time is valuable. Instead, he went above and beyond, describing the part to ensure I have the right part.

So for your future firearm purchases, please make sure you buy them from retailers and distributors that actually warrant their products. Some of them seem like they are until there is a problem. Then they ignore your emails, delete the thread/post, and you will be on your own trying to find the replacement part. If I am purchasing a $300 sks, then I am not expecting much. But when I am purchasing a +$1500 rifle made in US and sold by a reputable retailer/distributor, I would expect a decent warranty. From now on, I will only purchase firearms distributed by Distributor V.

I know this is an older thread, but my keltec RDB firing pin broke and I am trying to get a new one. Keltec hasn't responded to me yet but vault did and asked me to foreward my address as they will sell me one (doesn't sound like im getting warranty on it but will see) Anyhow I asked if I could buy a couple but was told no, due to low stock. So I'm wondring if anyone in this thread has a couple for resale?
