Looking for Timney Triggers , for Winchester Model 70...

Thanks for the input.....
So basically, I am resurrecting my Winchester model 70 XTR 30.06.......getting back into hunting this year.... So, I just purchased a new Nikon Monarch 3, 4-16x -50mm SF, and BDC, went to range yesterday to sight in my new purchase. Awesome !
But getting a bit of a gun nut ...I have many guns with custom trigger packs, Tavor /Super Sabre, Cadex Chassis Rem 700 5R, 300 win mag / Trigger Tech , Rem 700 VTR / 223, X mark trigger has been adjusted to a lighter trigger pull.
After shooting @ 20 rds, I felt that maybe a Timney trigger would be part of the plan....?

This is not the MOA trigger... vintage 1987-ish with no adjustment to the trigger pull. Seams to be @ 5lbs +

Rickspeed, please give it a bit more thought before you get rid of that trigger, assuming it's the pre 64 trigger which sounds like it is. I bought a "classic" a couple years ago and the first thing I did was take it down to guntec and he took it down to a very safe 2.5 lbs and boy is it nice. If I wanted a 70 with a newer trigger I'd sooner just buy a new rifle then swap it out. Now that I have that rifle with that trigger I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Why would you think it's a pre '64 when he stated it's a 1987-ish XTR? Or are they the same triggers?

Thanks again, for all of your input...
Living in Edmonton, who has used a very reputable gun smith, and by chance have had there factory Winchester trigger worked on .....

My biggest complaint, the pull weight seams heavy, creep and slow break is not what I have been accustomed too...

Cheers
