looking for unbiased review of NEA parts

The barrels and flash hiders are aluminum now? I am familiar with the properties of aluminum.

Yeah, no kidding...comments like the one you are referring to really make some people's bias show.

I freely admit my bias - I've got an early gen NEA-15 that hasn't missed a beat in 6000+ rounds. Zero issues. It is reliable, ###y (unless you break out the magnifying glass but I rarely do that at the range or in 3-gun competitions) and accurate as all hell. That makes me biased because I know they can produce top notch rifles. Why they continue to let QC issues get out the door is beyond me.

I also bought a z marked lower and a $120 stripped upper. I installed dpms lpk and the rest of the parts will be of a different brand besides the barrel and possibly handguard. I received the upper today so I haven't fit it to the lower yet.
The lower does fits a borrowed upper like a glove. The pins are pretty snug going in but Id rather that then them being easy as the coating will eventually wear off of the holes freeing up the pins. I bought NEA based on price, aesthetics and the fact they are Canadian made. The guys over seas seem to love these things maybe they don't get the shiity ones.

I just don't see what would push you to buy their parts, you can get companies with a reputable background for the same price. I'm sure that lots of their items are fine, but there are too many that aren't..

Hitzy,
send that #### back...aint nobody got time for that! I am surprised you even considered nea after the bolt blew apart after 3 rounds. their stuff is still garbage, i wouldnt recommend them to anyone.

Yeah I am a ####ing idiot for sure getting burnt with more NEA low grade AR parts. The inside of the upper wasn't polished either, just blasted and anodized so its pretty rough. Loose as #### on all my lowers too. I sold the replacement BCG as soon as i got it.....ill keep this POS though as a reminder to never buy anything from NEA again....

In NEA's defence, they don't make the actual bolt. Same thing happened to mine, Ryan sent out replacement parts and no issues since. I know that won't mean much to some here.

I bought mine because I like buying from Canadian companies. Certainly no regrets.

I have always been impressed with your willingness to try stuff just to see, and equally impressed when you and call the manufacturer/supplier out on CQN when something is not right for everyones benefit. I remember when you grabbed one of the first VZ's came in from Marstar. Every point you made turned out to be true. You can trust what Hitzy says even if you don't like the way he says it. ;)

If only the bolts were the only problem with NEA...

Canada can't complete on price in manufacturing, it completes on quality, something NEA has not grasped.

BCGs are sourced via a new provider, hence the no more issues with them.
Except that Hitzy had his bolt issues just a short time ago. This is the same BS excuse that NEA has used since the first problems cropped up. The safest bet is to simply take advantage of the parts offered by the many reputable companies represented by the sponsors of CGN. Junk is junk no matter who makes it or where they make it.

Mine as well. Did you consider that possibly the vendor continued to sell them despite knowing there was a few bad apples in the pile?

As noted, they are now being supplied be another company.

which is another reason i do not buy anything from that particular vendor. who cares if you have a great return policy, it should be something that is never needed if it is quality anyways

Which vendor if you don't mind. Pm me if you don't want to post it public. Thanks

Some guy posted a picture of his NEA barrel he bought, and when he opened the package it looked like a Cheetah it was so patchy. Looked horrible, many people said to return it but lots of people said "who cares, it doesn't affect the performance." I would care if I spent ~200$ on a new item and it looked like that. If their quality control is bad enough to let an obvious flaw out, they will probably let flaws out that do affect performance.

There are enough real NEA QC issues, there is no need to invent them. If you think that was a "flaw" then you weren't paying attention.

After hearing all those comment, it look like I was really lucky with the NEA 15 carbine i brought last December. Mine has a nice finish, the fit is excellent and it is shooting very well. I only fired 400 round yet.

Before buying it, I when to a local store to check some Ruger, Windham and DPMS ARs
... The fit and finish is better on my NEA, however I cant tell for the quality of the internal components

I didn't receive my CMMG LPK until tonight and there were absolutely zero figment issues and I'm extremely pleased with everything thus far.
