Hi folks,
I'm looking for a good used BR rifle in the $500-600 range. Any suggestions on a model that I should keep an eye out for?
A few things that I would prefer:
- heavy barrel
- adjustable trigger
- clip fed, not single shot
- can be scoped...will not be using peep sights

Thanks.

It will be difficult to find something really competitive in your price range. You could get a variation of the Match 64 Anschütz (1403, MS64, CIL 180, CIL 190) and screw a 3'' wide aluminium plate in the accesory rail to get a ''benchrest-style'' stock. You could also find a Brno Model 4 or a Walther for that price. One way or another, you will end up with a fun shooting rifle but keep in mind that you would get much better results if you could add another $200-$300 and find an Anschütz 54. You would get a stiffer action and a much better trigger.

Why do you want a repeater ? Except for the Sporter class, everybody use single shot actions in benchrest.

Good Luck. Other than Brno #4, not much of benchrest quality if available
near that price. And the #4 is a repeater, and probably the easiest to find.
Anschutz in any 54 action is 1000 plus in any kind of good condition.

This isn't for an organized competition, just for personal enjoyment. I just prefer a repeater having never used a single shot for this type of shooting.

Anshutz for sale in exchange at not that bad a price. Sandymac has
has it, and I had fair dealings with him.

I'd have to go with the suggestions so far.
Anschutz 64 action, Brno #4, Walther KKJ are probably the best bet.
Almost as good, Remington 540, Remington 513, Winchester 75, BSA Martini would be fun, any .22 Mauser you can find.
A long shot would be a Remington 580 or 581 - sporters but usually very accurate. I gather people use them for as a base for inexpensive sporter bench rest .22s.
