looking for vary accurate 22

you can turn a 10/22 into a $1500 tack driver (fyi, the SR-22 is a 10/22 in tactical clothing) when you upgrade your bolts, your trigger, pieces of the receiver and the barrel.

Or for the same $1500, you can simply purchase a Volquartsen, and have a stainless receiver, and a threaded barrel.
 
Savage Savage Savage. I know having owned both CZ's and Savage rimfires my money is on, well savage. They are very acurate despite what people think of the finish and for the price of a 455 you can buy 2 savage. With a bit of patience and ammo selection you won't be disappointed. It can be the most beautiful looking gun in the world but if it doesn't shoot at least MOA it's useless to me. Ill apologize in advance to all the 10/22 owners but if your looking for an acurate rifle the 10/22 is not an option unless you want to change everything on the rifle to make it so.

Thompson center r-55's are very accurate, they will shoot mid 2's,, 1/4 inch groups at 50 yards. To get better you have to buy a full blown target rifle. They are semi auto and they use a shilen match grade barrel, which are very good barrels. You will likely have to buy used as they are discontinued. Cost too much to make and were not great sellers as they were twice the price of 10/22's.

If you really wan't accuracy, they is no point in pissing around with the cheap stuff. Eley Tenex will set you back $200 a brick, or roughly $1900/case (+ shipping and taxes). Why settle for anything less if you're looking for the best?
 
Stubblejumper has it right. My daughter and her friend were actually driving tacks into the 50 yd backstop this weekend with my Volquartsen. Volcano awesome gun.

Just bought a Sako quad 22 mag yesterday, happy with the groups today. Waiting for my CZ 452 to come in tommorow, they are accurate too..

Hang on, is that round covering another bullet hole lol!!! And I'm pretty sure those two pics are identical...

Nice group nevertheless.
