Either the classic wood/blued barrel or the wood/stainless barrel. Both have the swirls in the checkering.
Either privately or a heads up on one in store stock somewhere would be appreciated.
Good luck, yes I know, but ya never know.
Thanks in advance.

Lots of Model 70 Featherweights floating around, don't get suckered into "You better buy this its a collectors item" with a price thats 25% over retail thats been shot.

Yeah I have heard. I just really like the gun, I think it's because it was the first rifle I ever shot when i was growing up and would like to get it for my Island deer gun here and for my girlfriend to use.
Rumour has it through a couple reps that Browing may start the model 70 line again in a year or two, depending if they feel it will be a productive enough to start reproduction and possibly do so after moving all of winchesters plant equipment to one of their plants.

The Lebaron store in Ottawa had 20 or so Winchester 70's in the back last time I was there. They don't list any in their catalogue, but there were some there. Give them a call, I believe some were marked down.

The search is over, finally, after so many close calls, close purchases on other calibers and a HUGE heads up by seawood77. I got one. Thanks to everyone.
