Looking info on .270

The 270 and the Model 70 go together like pie and ice cream.
 
Nice setup Pathfinder, I have a 1953 M70 270 in my safe, it's not original as the stock has been refinished and the checkering is gone, however I bought it cheap for a rebuild someday. My go to is a Kimber MA 270.
 
As a devout disciple of Jack O’Connor, I just love 270 Winchesters, having at least six rifles in that calibre. Remington 700’s are good if you don’t get the occasional lemon, Winchester Mod 70’s are classics with the featherweight a truly beautiful light rifle. But the Tikka T3 HB Varmint in 270Win is truly an incredible machine. We used 130g Sierra bullets pushed by 55grains of IMR4350 to kill groundhogs out to 970 yards while trying to get into the Varmint Hunter’s 1000 yd club here in Ontario. The Varmint Hunters club and groundhogs are since long gone but Jack O’Conner’s pride and joy 270Win still lives on.
