hey guys i've got a ar15 with a 3x and a line site cz858 but i'm looking to buy something for hunting big game and adding a slick optic to. any suggestions for a rifle/scope to buy?
 
I think your question would be more appropriate in the hunting forum. I suggest you provide a budget so that you get some advice that's actually meaningful to you.
 
sorry i meant i want something precision but if it had the side benefit of being useful for hunting that'd be nice. more interested in the precision part! and budget would be probably max $1500
 
Hate to say it because it's a tough pill to swallow, but $1500 wont' cut it. Mine's about as cheap as you can go and it cost me over 2 and I did all the work myself. (bedding, adjustable but-plate, etc) not counting my 600~ soon to be ~1000$ in reloading gear.
 
oh really that expensive eh? i didn't realize, well i don't wanna cheap out so i think i'll wait and save up a bit more then. and ya 1500 would've been total but i think i'll wait and save then..
 
I think the best thing for you to do right now is read articles and forums as much as you can. Here and sniper's hide are excellent sources of info, and I guarantee you that any question you have has already been asked and answered, if your willing to look for it.

And if your tired of reading check out "lonewolfusmc" on youtube. He has excellent videos for new and experienced shooters focused on precision shooting. You'll feel a lot better about your choices if you have a foundation of knowledge to draw from.
