looking to buy an AR

I would second profeser and say bushmaster, cause i have one and love it!

But, with 2Gs you can buy alot of different stuff. Good place to start would be barrel length. And maybe whether you want a Canadian built rifle or american, or chinese. So many options really.

yeah i know so many options thats why i need help with suggesting what i should get and just plan on plinking around for now but in a year or so plan on joining the forces yeah i was kind of thinking of bushmaster or a smith and wesson i dont really know why i want for a barrel length maybe 14 to 16.5 inches?? i dont know haha

Actually I have the Bushmaster also (was my first AR)...but knowing what I know now I'd go with the Norc CQ-a that's coming and learn all about them from that. My reasoning is that AR's are like lego...you're always taking them apart and rebuilding them to your own individual taste...why not learn on a less expensive model and then go for what you want later...don't get me wrong, I like my Bushy (and all it's upgrades) but for the money that's in it I'd have done things quite different (and actually am when my Spikes billet set finally arrives from Questar).

yeah ill have to see, im heading to the city this weekend and maybe ill see how much wholesale wants for there s&w i think they wanted 1700$ which i thought was pretty high but maybe it came down becuase of our kick ass dollar.

now do you guys think i should just buy a built one or a lower and upper seperate?

yeah i did check there website we will see do you have to be part of a gun club to buy an ar or is that just for handguns? and i think i might just end up buying the s&w becuase its convenient only 2 hour drive unless i can find one for like atleast 400$ cheaper

Most places on the Inter Webs ship for not much money.... Especially if you're spending +/- 2K...

I think shipping on my $1989.00 (roughly) Sabre was like $40...

Chicken Scratch!

i dont care about shipping haha its just more convenient to do drive 2 hours then wait a week or more for it to get here but then again the lmt spm-16 is looking pretty good like it all depends on how much they are still asking for the s&w

is building the ar15 cheaper? like getting the 2 halves? i havent really looked them up and did price checks on them

Personaly would get a Stag upper from Walter @ Arms East.
Then either get a personaly engraved lower from Rick @ Alberta Tactical Rifle or if I wasn't confident on assembeling a lower my self I would contact Joe @ Dlask and get 1 of those custom canadian 1's.

I own a Norc - if I had the ready cash at the time I bought it, I'd have bought a Stag. I would not have bought an M&P as I have seen BCG's not properly staked (even though I love S&W's and own 2 M&P pistols). Buying a Stag from ArmsEast is one of the safer bets in firearms purchasing (based on my having been here quite a while and having heard of precisely one issue - with a magazine). Given the amount of whine around here, that's a bloody miracle.
