looking to buy an SKS

The shooting edge in calgary(where i live) told me they are getting in a shipment of Yugo sks's. They were unable to give me a ETA on when they will arrive. I was looking around and found a few websites and have in stock Simonov Russian SKS for a reasonable price.

I am wondering if its worth waiting for a Yugo, not knowing when they will be in or if the Simonov Russian SKS is just as good.

Most Russians have the chrome lined bore (sorry can't remember which years, run the search on this forum) which the Yugo does not. Yugo goes for more $$$, 'cause they're newer, there's fewer available and it has the grenade launcher.

Lever Arms had a deal for $400.00 ish for a Russian and a case of ammo. There are a couple Yugos for sale on the EE for about the same cash (minus the ammo) last time I looked.

Marstar has a pile coming in when... whenever. Check the 70,000 SKS thread in this forum.
 
We have lots of Russian SKS's in stock and can ship anywhere in Canada. If you can wait for Easter weekend we will be down at the Calgary Gun Show and we will have some there. Phil.
 
It all depends on what you like. Some people prefer the look of yougo and some love the russian ones. My opinion put both of those next to each other and make a dicision. If you don't have that luxury than just look at a picture of both next to each other. Also consider if you going to change the stock or not. Most of yougo rifles are sold to USA because it is legal to import it there. Quantity limited and demand is high. I went to Las Vegas Shot Show and the price for a dealer was 345.99 USD So I don't know how much they are going to sell it in Canada. If they are smart and they get good deal on those they will ship it to USA and get more money for it. If you want to buy Russian then you can see my website and pictures. I have a friend who has three Yougos SKS . If you are interested let me know. PM me and I will arrange it. I know that he wanted to sell one. He is not on CGN. One thing is that those he bought for about 450 or 500 . If he is willing to sell it would be in that range. Those are find especially that I believe he had not fired them. He bought it as investment. Interested let me know.
