In the olden days I shot competitively using .22 rimfire prone rifles. Annie 1411 to be exact. Before I had to adhere to ISU regulations I used a 10X jacket and padded mitt. I have found an old 10X jacket but I am looking for a mitt to go on my left hand (right handed), a handstop that will work on an Annie rail and a sling. I'm not to sure which WTB category I should post this in.

I will be using this on a .308 prone gun. Obviously I'm not looking for new but similar in new would be the following:

Thanks for your help.

A WTB in the Precision section is about as close as you will get. As some of the older guys retire out that type of equipment so it’s available, but it’s not the most popular style right now. I see hand stops on eBay and they are not controlled items per se, but many US sellers don’t want the headaches of shipping to Canada but you might get lucky. OK Weber in Oregon has new stuff, as does Paul Reiben in Kamloops although he doesn’t have a web site so just phone him.

I have a couple of older alloy hands stops that were designed for rail attachment and used in prone shooting with a sling. Not worth a lot. PM me if you are interested.

Fancy adjustable new ones can cost $150 or there are cheaper, simpler ones on the market designed for 22 cal shooting that will likely prove a little uncomfortable with the recoil of a 308.

The best slings nowadays are synthetic. Tesro will likely be able to sort you out there. Make sure to get the hook type attachment as the 22 style button can be a real pain in the proverbial. Tesro likely also have gloves (mitts are so old fashioned) specifically for prone shooting, or try CenterTheGroup.com.

Imo a glove is one of the things I would definitely not cheap out on. Unfortunately I had a Gehmann i ordered incorrectly, but a buddy already snagged it.

I use the Gehmann 466, I think I’m paying about $55 to my door. I actually want to try one of the Thune gloves next season.
