Looking to buy hand gun have ATC?

The national freeze on handguns came into force on October 21, 2022, effectively stopping the sale, purchase, or transfer of handguns within Canada. This restriction was later codified into law under Bill C-21, which received Royal Assent on December 15, 2023

Auctions sell them.
Many stores still have them.
Gun post
Or you can import

If this is your first, just want to remind you that depending on the privince you may need to qualify with it (shoot under supervision) before it gets transfered to you, so you'll need to make arrangements to go to a range with the current owner (business or individual)

Looking to buy handguns 357 or 10 mm does anyone know where to buy one in Ontario or Canada??
This guy/girl joined today, and this is their first post!......:(

Why would anyone answer this TROLL?.....

Gunnutz is really becoming a cesspool of scumbags.........:(

Why would these troll's even be allowed to join, post, or otherwise?.......

If we figure out the legals, my Ruger SRH .454 Casull is for sale. Comes with Mernickle horsehide flap holster, Uncle Mikes shoulder holster, two .454 speedloaders and a double speedloader pouch, original Ruger box and rings and everything else that came with it.

Round count, very low.

I would love to buy your Ruger 454, however I don't have the required ATC yet.......:(

In addition, we are selling a Browning 380 1911 Speed on Gun-Post. Lot's of interest, but no one with the required permits......:(

I would think the ATC's are getting more difficult to obtain......

The 380 cal gun doesn't qualify for a wilderness atc. And the other types are not just more difficult - they are nearly impossible.

I apologize for the unsolicited advice but if you actually want to sell it, drop the price... I get it that yours is a 'collectable' so you want more but consider that if someone wanted something that specific AND had an exemption they could import it for less... There's a wanted ad from a business for such a gun so clearly it's an issue of price. (I have nothing to do with the ad, for the record. We did buy a regular 1911-380 though for under 300 for export to Europe).

Auctions will have them. A Sig 10mm was on there last month or. S/W should be relatively easy to come across. Start phoning the bigger single store gun shops and state you have the ATC should have no issues finding one.

Unfortunately your statement is incorrect. Every province apparently has different rules to qualify for an Authorization to Carry. (ATC)

In BC, trappers are getting an ATC to wilderness carry the smaller calibers for dispatching live trapped quarry. This includes the 22 LR, 22 WMR, 380 auto, 9mm auto, and others I cannot remember.

I've been contacted by many interested buyers who want to lease the firearm for 99 years, and will pay my asking price up front. I'm not interested in this loop-hole as the firearm is still registered to us.......:(

There are plenty of East Indians (Sikh I believe), are buying up traplines in BC. They have figured out they can get two ATC permits for each qualifying trapper that is registered to lawfully trap on that trapline. It's ingenious to think of this, and they get a summer camping cabin to boot........LOL

It's too bad us white guys could not have also figured this loop-hole out before all the traplines are bought up............:ROFLMAO::LOL:

So it appears trappers can get two ATC permits for each guy, however one firearm has to be for dispatching furbearers, and the other must be strictly for predator protection. Like a 10mm auto, 357 magnum, 44 magnum, 45 Colt, etc. It also appears each CFO employee has their own idea and rules on which calibers are allowed or not. With government corruption at an all time high, this does not surprise me at all...........:(

Oddly enough that business that has the WANTED AD up on GUN-Post for the Browning 1911 380 did contact me. They only wanted to pay half of our asking price. Unfortunately we declined, and for several reasons. First is the firearm is as new, fired 100 rounds or so, has all the items it came with from the factory, and is the only Browning 1911 in a 380 auto, for sale in Canada. It also is a Browning Shot-Show Special. (2021)

In addition, it comes with ten factory original magazines. Eight which are new, never used. The magazines alone are worth $1000.00, and that's if one could find any in Canada. They are a little less in the United States......:)

So obviously we won't be giving the firearm away for half of it's value. They wanted to pay the full asking price, but they could not come up with the funds. The pistol was going to be used for training folks for handgun shooting.

As a result, she's still for sale. If no one can qualify to buy it, we will just keep it. It's my wife's handgun, she likes it a lot, however going to our gun range is too far, and time dictates on how much we can get to that range.......:(

Interesting. I was told 22 only for trap dispatch. (I have supplied firearms for ATC)...

One unfortunate thing is the people who say "I have an exemption, I will buy" often do not come through with the exemption. My ratio is under 50% of buyers getting approved.

Anyhow, good luck then :)

There's an article on You-Tube somewhere showing a female trapper who received her ATC for trapping. Her firearm was a 9mm auto. (Parabellum)

I believe it was a BC Firearms trainer who released the video. They went through all the FAQ's about obtaining a proper ATC for wilderness carry. It was long, however I watched the entire 50 minutes or so.

The ridiculous rules of no cross draw holsters, gun can't be concealed even in the middle of winter way out in the field are retarded.

It's all about control to discourage one from this apparent loop-hole to tyrannical, corrupt, Liberal ideology.......:(

The amount of guys that ask about a 99 year lease, or to just buy it without any certification is colossal....:( People want handguns so bad, they will try anything.........

It really sucks that this government has drastically devalued so many people's firearms
