Looking to buy my first AR15

It's time for me to add an ar to my safe. Kicking myself for not buying a Daniel defense when they were 1400 bucks, but from what I've seen I think I've decided on the savage msr15 recon. Only place I've seen them for sale is at London bullseye. Anyone know if there's somewhere they can be had for cheaper?
Or if there's any better option for that price point(around $1000). Looking for something with a full rail, not a fan of the fixed front sight posts.

Front sight post is easily removed and replaced with a low profile gas block and free float forend if desired.

Not honestly knowing, what's the benefit of a savage AR15 over tried and true manufacturers?

If you're after a basic AR for your first, I'd go with the S&W rifles. At 699.99, you can't beat it.

The savage has the 5r rifling. 223 wylde chamber. Free floated. Nice furniture. Melonite finish. Blackhawk backup sights (would replace them with magpul eventually but nice that it comes with them).

Don't like the s&w. Right now the savage is closest to what I want, would just need an optic then down the road I'll change out the trigger and flip up sights.

Daniel Defense is good. Stag is good. Really you can't go wrong. It'll shoot better than you do. I miss my Mk18. But the deal on those stags is amazing.

Spend the extra money on a nice trigger kit. You won't be disappointed.

Couple of my training buds have that exact rifle and I'm STILL green with envy!! I'd do it if you can swing it...
