Hey everyone,

To start would like to say hope everyones holidays were great! spend some time with the family and drank lots :p! Anyways i am getting hard into reloading! i started not to long ago and im really loving it. I have seen tremendous improvements on a couple rifles. I have a stock remington 700 SPS varmint in 243. win and with factory 80gr soft point is a half moa rifle all day long! i have taken her out too 300-400 and tried the 500 yards a couple times and was very impressed with this rifles capabilities but i want better and with some upgrades and spending some time behind the bench with some reloads i know i can get it there! I took my first load development down which my first 3 shot group was right around .386" at 100.

first thing i would like to ditch is the some what sh** x-mark pro trigger and im thinking a timney or jewel. Now this rifle will be a target/varmint rifle so im thinking timney cause its suppose to have better tolerance to dirt which is obviously something that will get in during hunting situations. On top of that its also cheaper. If it was strictly bench i would go jewel. Second thing i would like to ditch is that garbage stock! and now this is where i am in a serious debate. I love the McMillan a3-5 and A5 stocks and debating between the two as well as the finish i want! A buddy of mine is trying to talk me into a Manners stock either the T2 or T4 from what i remember. Now im curious on what everyones suggestions on the two different brands of stocks and which route to go!

Have your trigger tuned properly. It's not as bad as you think.

Manners makes a great stock for the price. I've shot quite a few McMillan A5's and although great, they are a lot of money. It's nice being able to customize it the way you want (fill, etc).

Good luck. You have to consider your budget, what you'll use the rifle for, and then see what each product offers.

If you can manage sub .75 or .5, try competing in the forum challenge. It's a fun way to get trigger time.
