Hello, I was given a nice shotgun, Montecarlo, by Frommer.
I dont have much info on it and I'm looking for someone to help me evaluate its value. I'm probably going to sell it as I prefer over under..
Thanks for the help guys.
I'm not very good with technology so I can send pics to your emails..

Thanks

FEG Monte Carlo shotguns were first imported into Canada from Hungary, as economy doubles in the late 60s/early 70s.
More recently, Tradeex imported some from Scandinavia, with the flock of shotguns being sold off due to new European firearms laws.
They are serviceable guns, but not fancy, and a bit heavy for an upland gun. The last one I saw on Tradeex was priced at $240.
We would need more details of features and condition of your gun to provide a valuation.

I bought one new in the early 1970's, my first brand new shotgun. Very sturdy, well made, never had a problem with it but it beat me up pretty badly. It was fine for a few shots hunting but when I started to shoot trap it quickly got replaced.

I’ve used mine for clays a few times and it hurts pretty bad, seems to hit me on the cheek. I only take it out a couple of times a year for that reason. Interesting feature is that removable insert in the fore end which allows you to change it from ejector to extractor function.

It's an early export model ( can't read the numbers , some are 2 3/4 some are 3 inch magnum )
Unfortunately someone tried repair it and refinish the wood and not in a nice way . You find them between $ 200 - 450 asking.
Now if it was a real Frommer ( early made by Fémáru ) I would double that price . ( but you have to find a patriotic Hungarian to sell it to )

The gun is scarred with vice marks, screws and pins damaged, and stock varnished over.
It looks like a $200 gun, on a good day.

This is the type of gun that a number of people would want for their truck or quad. If the bores are shiny and no cracks in the stocks and the lockup is tight then I am more optimistic about what it would fetch at auction than suggested above. A 40 year-old Brazilian single shot is a $200 gun these days. $400 minus commission is pretty realistic or even conservative.

Thank you all! Yes it is old but it shoots damn well!
I got the answer I wanted as I will keep it. If it would of been a higher priced shotgun for some reason, I may of sold it..
Great shotgun!
Thanks gentleman!

If it works and you don't need that $ 200 for something else keep it . They are reliable and will last an other 50-100 year .
They do kick like a mule , ad recoil pad.
Wear a glove when you shoot , the trigger guard will bruise your 3rd finger when you use the forward trigger.( takes about 50 clays to start bleeding )
If you get really bored you can refinish the wood to the original high gloss lacker polished to a mirror like finish ( it looks amazing )
