Looking to make a hunting setup stag 10

Don't waste your money on "el cheapo " anything, especially not optics! There's nothing like spending a solid $1000 on a moose hunt and then missing your moose cause your el cheapo tasco , NC star or wal mart bushnell lost zero on the bumpy drive in and is now shooting 4 feet left!

$1000 moose hunt, I feel bad for you my friend. Time to move to the bush!!

cash to get a license I don't quite the northern tip of the northern peninsula of Newfoundland it is a 12 hour drive from where I'm too, its 7 hundred with hotel lol

That is a long drive... I guess not everyone can legally shoot off their front porch. Definitely a great vacation to get away from it all. Worth every penny!

Yeah it's a great vacation in 2017 I went hunting got my first moose myself with help of a family friend and we missed the biggest moose he's ever seen we settled for a cow lol, then I got home picked up a girl I was talking to cuz we're going to hang out my transfer case blew, an extra 2100 dollar bill LMFAO, if I didn't have bad luck I'd have no luck at all but right now I have a Warne scope mount on the way, so I just need to find a 1 inch scope in my price range which is nothing now lmao

Well its a general statment us it dont cost us much, a bit of gas and license fee. But alot of folks have to rent cabins and that alone is a big chunk of cash.

Nikon are out of the scope business and have big special right now, burris e1 series or full feild 2 are great options, vortex diamondback.... I wouldn't go any cheaper then that.

Yeah I'd basically be sleeping in my truck this fall if I do get my license and in all honesty I'd rather than in 2017 it was minus 45 with the wind that was cold but had some fun that hunt

Nikon is out of the game, I love the Diamondback I wish I had 300 for another three for one for each of my hunting rifles and my sr25 haha, I have high hopes

Very true. I was just suggesting that some people like us are the lucky few that are able to do it for relatively inexpensive. While some of these poor folk have to travel a great distance. We all can't be so lucky!!

I’ll weigh in on scopes for a stag10.
Currently I have a 1-6 Burris on it. Pretty nice scope/mount. For hunting, out to 300 or less yards, maybe the primary arms 1-6 (predator series?), the ranging reticle in that one is for different animals.

Myself, I’ve upgraded to a primary arms 3-18 acss hud dmr 308...just waiting to get it

I've looked at those, they look good, I have no hands on experience mind you with them, best scopes dad bought was a tasco lol, I got a Viper 3-9 and a diamondback 4-12

Aahh fair enough, yah I have a 1” Diamondback tactical, 4-12, it’s decent too, I just like the lazy mans ranging reticle haha

It's good, and man laser bore sighting was EASY, no range open to go pew pew, I found that the 3-9x at 100 meters was bad with my eyes, need an eye exam me thinks haha, but that Viper I does love it, if I swap it for a 4-12, I'll probably put it on my model 94 or if I buys another an SKS with a full rail
