Im looking for a Mosin Nagant to target shoot with, dont have much experience with them besides reading up and looking at them in the stores.

So far Ive come up with one from P&D Enterprises

33521 Mosin Nagant 1891/30, C/W Kit, *Rearsenal* 7.62x54R 199.00 NEW

Now they also sell a box of 7.62x54R(880 rnds) for $320, now whether this is a good deal or not I don't know.


My biggest concern and question is when and if i want to put a reproduction PU scope on the rifle am i just better of buying one that is already converted/original.


Anyone that can help me in my hunt is greatly appriciated

What I have seen:
Prices that I see vary from about ~$100 to $250 for 91/30.
Reproduction PU scope ~$280 up. West rifle has them
I have seen rifles with scope for~$500. Gunsmithing required to mount scope. You need the bent bolt.
 
That is actualy a pretty sweet deal there, now my question for anyone here is do you think it is worth it to just buy the sniper version first rather then upgrading to it from the standard?

I just got another Mosin - I got it for $150. Not real impressed with the store though (Sudbury Area). Rifle was in not bad condition. The sales clerk told me the rifle had never been fired:kickInTheNuts:.. Yeah
I just smiled and nodded. Rifling looks good -now I just need that Brass Stacker...
