I have a .243, and now a .270 which i have been able to find recipes on Hogdons website, but it nothing for .308 ? it would suuuure be nice to use 1 powder for all 3 calibers.

cheers

No possible way that you can get enough 4831 into a 308 case, to get satisfactory pressure, with any weight bullet.

Do you have a drop tube? That will get the max powder in the case. A compressed charge of 4831 under a 200 gr bullet would work, although 4350 would be much better.

But try the compressed 4831 under a a heavy bullet. Experimentation is interesting.

I guestimate a max velocity of about 200 fps slower than usual. The powder is too slow for the case size.

4831 is simply too slow to be a good powder for 308. As mentioned, it starts to become almost useful for bullets over 200 gr, but for 150-180 gr bullets you just can't get enough powder in the case. If it were me I would buy another powder instead of wasting 4831 in a cartridge that doesn't like it.
