When starting to collect Lugers, do any intro to Luger collecting books exist?

Any comprehensive Luger history books?

Documentaries?

If your pockets are deep enough to collect Lugers do you really need to worry about the price of a book?

Short answer: Well, if you have money to piss around, send me some.

Long answer: That's just for the one. Depending on where the collector's focus is, he may need to buy the whole series, where there are 4 (5?) books. ....and only if he can find the books, as they are as rare as some of the Lugers that he can collect.

The point I was getting at is collecting Lugers requires deep pockets and pateince, collecting the books would be part of that.

Collecting Lugers is a bottomless pit. Before WWI they were extremely aggressive in selling them, so that there are literally dozens of "variations". It's not that the Lugers are all different, it's that they were bought by countries and companies all over the world. Not to mention the types in Germany that developed during the war. If you look at a book site like Abebooks, you'll find quite a few. And websites devoted to the type.

Agree with previous posters, "Lugers at Random" and Jan Still's books which are $$.

Collecting Lugers is an extremely challenging endeavor, wish you good luck!
