Interesting to see if they make one for us with the NR length barrel.
I love my 10mm pistol but hate losing brass since it throws it all over, I already have a mount for my brass catcher on my gen 1 that works very well so being able to shoot 10mm away from the range without losing brass is very appealing :)
Now we wait to see what comes north for us to play with.

Time for a "what game can you take with 10mm" thread :). Assuming NR. It is maybe 60% of 44 magnum energy. With 10 rounds semiauto it would be better than nothing against larger things. The Canadian PDW!

How work it be for bear defense?

In all seriousness - 10mm is on my list and a non-restricted option with what will probably be a decently supported chamber is quite attractive.

I am sure they will be too costly in CAD though...

10mm Auto is legal for deer is some parts of the USA, I expect it would work on things like cougars and badgers. But then so would a lot of cheaper guns of much the same size and weight.
I'm sure it will suit somebody for something.

Most factory loadings of 10mm auto are loaded down to 40 short and weak levels. When it was the FBI standard issue too many women and limp wristed weaklings were complaining so they kept loading down, then they figured out that since it was neutered down enough that it could be loaded into a shorter cartridge to fit in a small frame pistol the 40S&W was born.

If you want to see what 10mm auto is really capable of you need to search and pay through the nose for commercial loads or you need to handload your own. My 10mm loads are a blast, I use 800x to push them and everyone I let shoot it turns around with a huge grin when finished and wants another magazine. My Glock 21 with stainless conversion barrel and heavy spring is a lot of fun.
Putting this round in a non restricted carbine would be awesome and I would definitely take it hunting for deer at under 100yds.

It shouldn't cost any more than any other Vector in 9 or 45.

If you are not interested then don't buy one, quite a few people are obviously interested and feel it would suit them.
Try shooting a 10mm that's loaded up to how it was originally designed then come back and try to be mr negative.

My 135 grain loads are producing 1500 ft lbs of energy out of an 18.5" barrel. Definitely a capable cartridge at modest distances for deer and such. I have never really liked the Vector but it could be interesting in a potent cartridge like 10mm Auto.

Gen 2 are around $2000 new and a new gen 1 seems to be around $1800. When were they cheaper than that?

That's not too bad. The cheapest new sale price I have seen is $1600 (not sure which gen).

I see $1000+ Glock 17's and shake my head...
