Make sure that mag extention was not originally designed for use on a semi-auto. Was is made to also fit an 1100?
No, Dont do it. The addition of the extension modifies the shotgun itself. It is not a detachable magazine.

By installing an extension, you have altered a legal, factory 5 round magazine to hold more than five rounds.
This makes a lot of sense, it's equivalent to removing the floor plate on a mag and adding an extension to it.By installing an extension, you have altered a legal, factory 5 round magazine to hold more than five rounds. Want to be the test case?
If you really want an official interpretation, which would be the one that would be used if charges were ever laid, call 800 731 4000, and get patched through to the SFSS for their interpretation.

At the end of the day your semi auto mag tube can hold 5.9 shells of the longest the action is designed for.
In other words if it's a gun designed for 3 inch shells then you can put a blocked extension on it that allows for 5.9 or just less then 6 3" shells.
After that you can load 6 2 3/4" shells in the tube magazine and be within the law.
That's as good as it gets.
