Hi, I have a SKS and the little switch that locks the piston in place starts to unlock itself after a couple of rounds of shooting.

so there's a round slot in which the switch settles into and it's supposed to stay locked but after firing a few rounds, the rattle and shaking made the switch come off the slot and starts to move into unlock position.

I tried to bend the switch a bit so as to make it tighter when put into the little round slot but it didn't work.

Any advice on how to fix that would be much appreciated.

These are usually tight as hell on all the ones I have seen, you could bend it more, but that could be a iffy thing, spring steel I am thinking, I wonder if the cam( inside) has some wear on it so it is not in as far as it should be?end play in other words. hard to say with out looking at it, suggestions, not sure?
Gas tube you are talking about ,I presume, with the piston inside.

I had that issue with an sks that had an aftermarket plastic stock and handguard. It was no longer an issue once I out a wooden stock and handguard in place, I'm guessing the aftermarket handguard was a bit too short for the rifle.

A friend of mine had the same issue with his. He had a ventilated handguard and the rear metal piece with the pin through it was very loose and would buckle up after a few shots thus jamming the piston and gun
He bought a spare wooden handguard with the tube and problem solved

Use a pin punch and tap the indent on the switch to deepen it. It could help you create more friction between the pin and the detent-thing.
