hey giys im playin with my win94 375 an some may remember i had issues with crimpin pills, it crimps where the cannalure on the pill is an doesnt hold it completely tight...
Whats the issue with this when firing the Ammo?

thanks

As a first guess, it sounds like your resizing was incomplete. If your neck and bullet are of the proper diameters, the bullet will be solidly in place, with crimping required mainly to hold it in place during the force of recoil. Perhaps you could be more specific when you say it isn't, "completely tight."

Some will say that a firm crimp allows for better or more reliable/accurate ignition. In your case, I would not worry about firing them one at a time, but I would solve the problem before putting them into your magazine. If the bullets get pushed in, it could raise chamber pressure.

maybe polish the expander ball, to reduce the size a few thou

That's one solution and a very viable one if an oversize expander ball is the problem.

Before doing it however, I'd make sure that was indeed the cause. I'd check the obvious stuff first - right dies, right bullets, proper seating of the resizing die (screw it down until it touches the case holder when the ram is full up, lower the ram, screw down the die another half turn and then lock it) and so forth.

More neck tension is better than less, so removing the ball or sanding it smaller is a good idea. loose bullets are not good and especially so in a tubular magazine where they will get pushed in.

That is a issue with the tubular magazines..

lets say i load a case, it comes out of the seater die an looks A1.... cannalure an case inline, beauty! i hold the case with one an hand an with my other hand grab the projectile, i can move the projectile within the cannalure, and if i try to pull the projectile completely out, there is alot of force needed...
unfortuntley with force i can also lose the projectile to the case if pushed hard passed the "ogive" i thnk..

just quickly, similar to how to set up the resizing die, can someone explain how to properly set up the seater die, i has just put a loaded factory round an screwed it until it touched the projie.

thanks :S

Here is a photo

Left- hornady 220, a reload which is loose in the cannalure an sittin down, a reload which is loose that i pulled up as far as i could(it got tight) an on the right is Factory winchester round(older) with different cannelure setup.

My FL resizer is set up correct! but im having issues with the seater !!

I think i need to set it up to not seat the bullets so deep an crimp on below the cannalure???

Also note the top of the hornady reloads, the ring cause by the seater (cant be right)

i dont see the issue in the resizing, i can resize so the pill sits atop the case, an when its pushed up the seater, somethings not right

Another photo of another 4 cases, The left one wont go in or out but spinns very freely... the middle 2 are seated a tad deeper an are fair solid an the Right isnt going anywhere but its not held solid, can be spun..

also note top of projie from seater??

i shot two of the loosely seated rounds, from 50meters an turned up with this, i want to know more before i go blasting loose rounds.

i am loading 27/28gr of ADI2207 for the record.
excuse the cheezel box target haha
i havnt had much range time with the gun, this is a better group iv ever had, maybe it threw the 200gr factorys all over the place??

I don' tthink you need a factory crimp die. I've had the same thing happen with 6.5x55 and .308, and I just adjusted the roll crimp to crimp tight into the cannelure. Another option is to shoot cast or bullets with no cannelure :)

The Lee Factory Crimp die will probably help your situation; but I really think a better solution would be to reduce the diameter of the expander a couple of thousandths of an inch. Don't be too aggressive, think of the operation as more of a "polishing" than "sanding it down".
0.002" is about the thickness of a human hair.

To set-up your seating die, put an empty; but fully resized case in your press and install the seating die. (Make sure the seating stem is well up from the final position.)
put your ram to the top and screw your seating die in until you just feel it contact the case (all your cases are trimmed to a uniform length, right?)
What you're feeling is the crimp shoulder just touching the top of your case.
Lock the seating die right there. (for now)
Seat a bullet so that the top of the crimp groove/cannelure is just visible over the mouth of the case.
Drop the ram, unscrew the seating stem 3-or-4 turns, unlock the die and screw it in about 1/4 turn, and raise the ram, slowly. You should feel the die touch the case just as the ram gets to the top of its travel. Lower the ram and have a look at the crimp. If you'd like a bit more crimp, screw the die in about 1/8th of a turn, send the ram up and then have a look at the round... Good crimp? Any "wrinkles" or "bulges" anywhere on the case indicate too much crimp.
When you are happy with the look of the round, put it back in the press, raise the ram and then lock the die in position. (putting a round into the die takes all the "play" out of the system and locates the die more exactly)
Then with the ram still at the top, screw the seating stem down until it's firmly in contact with the bullet, and lock it there.
Now make-up a round with that die setting and have a very close look at it, if you are unhappy, adjust the seating die (very small adjustments should be all you need).
Once you are happy, make double-sure everything is locked down, and you're good-to-go!

howdy, I just put together a dummy load, but seated the bullet out a few turns from factory, an its crimped RIGHT, no movement... Although!!

it didnt cycle due to being that little bit longer...
il have a play by turning 1/4 at a time until it cycles!
if its the cannalure where it cycles il buy a crimp die
