I know that over the years many folks in this country have stripped factory Glock frames for parts. To put into their Poly80 guns, as lower parts kits have been almost non-existent.

But I have always wondered, why do the factory original locking blocks get stripped out too? Completely stripped frames go up for sale, even though the original locking blocks are of no use in the Poly guns.

Where does the locking block go? Unthinking slobs that remove it needlessly and then lose it or throw it away? That's my best guess.

Help me with an answer, I've wondered about this for years.

Well, I've never had any issues finding Lower parts kits. I agree with you about the locking blocks as they pretty much have worn in with the frame and should stay with it.

Not sure why anyone would do that. The Locking block is a part that can fail and is under stress constantly with every shot fired. I'm in the process of replacing one as we speak because of the pounding to the original factory installed one.
