I live in British Columbia, and mailed away my PAL/RPAL registration about 20 days ago, but the cfc website has yet to display that they have received it.

Is this a normal time to wait before they even receive it, or did canada post lose my registration application? I was told it would only take 2-3 days to arrive. Is it possible that they have it, but for some reason the computer system doesn't? Did they enter my information wrong? Should I call to confirm?

AHHHHHH, not knowing drives me crazy. I need my PAL before that shipment of SKS's from Frontier gets here!

Don't expect "quick" from the cfc! One thing I noticed when I sent mine in, was that it seemed to take forever. Then, the next day it's showing in the system, and back dated 2 weeks. Spooky stuff. Hurry up and wait for a bit.:D

+1 for registered mail.
I sent it in registered mail and they had it there the next day and on the website by the end of the week.. Now I just have to wait.:sniper:

Mine was in my hands a few days after the website was updated to say it was being processed which was a month or so after I sent it in via regualr mail. There on-line tracking system is even worse than Canada Posts.

Call them, 1-800-731-4000

I know exactly how you feel! I ExpressPosted my app for RPAL because it was traceable. 3 business days guaranteed. A few days later, I traced the ENVelope, and it didn't even show as being "in the system" of Canada Post, although I had the stamped receipt in my hand.

A week later, still no trace. I contacted Canada Post, who assured me, "it will turn up". This did not fill me with confidence. Since all the ID to get a RPAL was in that ENV, if it was stolen, I felt someone determined enough might use my ID to get a RPAL in my name. I contacted the CFC, and told them my story. I went and made another application, new photo, bother my references again, and send in the duplicate app by Registered mail. Several days later, "both" applications arrived at CFC. How the ExpressPost ENV could move all the way to destination without being scanned even once is beyond my comprehension. So I spent a week on the edge of my seat, so I can understand what goes through your mind while waiting! I hope you (or anyone else) don't ever have to go through what I did.

X3 for registered/express.

Just looked back in my records, and the CFC website showed as received 2 days after I had sent it in via expresspost.

It has been a week since I received delivery approval and signature approval from canada post but i'm not in the online system yet? Better make a phone call tomorrow!
