Lost love, the one that got away. What's yours?

no pic but I had a Remington Model 30 Express in a Fajen Aristocrat stock....shoulda kept it.....and a Pre'64 Model 70 in 300 Win Mag, a one year deal in '63.....shoulda kept it too.....and a 1964 vintage 700 BDL in 222 Rem Mag...I think I know who has this one...and,there are others....

Lost loves

I passed on two deals to friends, one was a Lee Enfield that had US army stamped on it, and another was a pristine 1910 Ross, I would be glad to have either of them come to visit..
Funny how it seemed at the time that there was no need for another 303....

I had two nice M700 classics, a 1981 300H&H and a 1983 7X57. Nice rifles...sold em both.

But the the one that hurts is a dead mint M71 super grade I chose to pass on close to 10 years ago as I had more bills than money at the time. Should've sold a kidney and bought it!

I'm the lucky one in the bunch 'cause I don't miss anything I've sold. I suppose that's because I had a closet full of junk (or at least to my perception). I decided to sell all that little by little. Now I have fewer guns, but they're much nicer, shoot better and live in a gun safe, and all of them get equal opportunity to go hunting :D

I love all my guns..some more than others. I've only ever sold off those I have no use for either because of inaccuracy or just limited application. I've sold a Remington Viper .22....glad to see her leave, sold a 11-87 with absolutely mint walnut stock...but have another that's never let me down and finally sold a Ruger MKII competition .22 which was hardly ever used in my limited time at the range. So to say I have a lost love...nope...I keep on lovin' what I've got and just add new ones.

I sold a mint Featherwieght in 308 last year when I was bored. Never should have sold it . I made a trade for it last month and I got it back !! Thanks John

The one I gave up would be my very clean Winchester 1886 Liteweight, 2/3 mag, curved grip, shotgun butt, and fancy wood, king site, 45-90, just plain got offered to much for it, hurts to think about it.
The one I most regret passing on, a FN Browning in 300 Savage absolutely mint for 600.00, was quite a bit younger then and didn't really know what was in front of me, have wanted one ever since.

Pre-64 Winchester model 70 with a weaver K10 scope in 220 swift.Still looked like it was right out of the box. Sold it for cash during a financial bind and I can kick myself to this day. I would rebuy that rifle in a heartbeat......kind feels like missing your old dog after he passes on!

MY REGRET WAS A MODEL 700 BDL FROM THE SIXTIES WITH A FACTORY 20" BARRELL. NOTHING SPECIAL TO LOOK AT WITH PRESSED CHECKERING. A BUDDY OF MINE PICKED IT UP IN A PAWN SHOP IN SEATTLE FOR $100.00. THAT LITTLE GUN WOULD SHOT RAGGED HOLES ANY TIME WITH JUST ABOUT ANY LOAD. SOLD IT ONE DAY TO A GUY THAT JUST HAD TO HAVE IT. yOU KNOW THE STORY. MY BUDDY DIED WAY TO EARLY JUST AFTER THAT. I HAD SLIMBO GO ON CGN A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO WITH A WTB AND I GOT ITS TWIN BROTHER FROM ONTARIO. I'LL HANG ONTO THIS ONE!

How's about the gun that I was happiest to see go (don't mean to hijack) - A savage 99 in .308, coulnd't shoot minute of barn, no matter what. The fellow that bought it from me was happier than a two peckered puppy. He was hanging it over his fireplace.

remington 7600 270 pump...loved this gun...traded it in on my new 300 wsm....but o well i just bought a new tikka t3 camo in of course 270 :dancingbanana:

I've said it before but it was a Walther PPK .32. At 20ft it was more deadly if I threw it at you, but it was still an ultra cool and ###y 007 gun. Damn I hate my brother for trading me a Martini Henry for it!
